LA runs deeper than the blonde beaches and rolling hills would have you believe. It is a place for all the dreamers, rockers and risk-takers – an open-minded city who encourages the people to live and let live without judgement or shame.

And now, the city is entering a new age. Technology. Start-ups. Entrepreneurs.

On the west side of the city changes are happening with big-name tech companies such as Google, Yahoo!, and YouTube, BuzzFeed, which have opened offices here, as well as start-ups such as SnapChat, making the so-called area named Silicon Beach, the new home for LA tech hub and start up community.

When I walk down the famous boardwalk of Venice I can see a unique and vibrant mix of activities and attractions. The area is one of the most popular destinations in Los Angeles for visitors and locals alike. From its days as home to poets and artists, Venice continues to be an important Los Angeles cultural center. And at the moment it is the home to over 500 tech startup companies, making it considered as the second- largest tech hub in the world, according to various reports.

From SnapChat´s office I can see a part of the 75 miles of county coastline with a numerous of world-famous surf spots, making Los Angeles the quintessential city of the endless summer..

– InnoMag will come back with interviews from California´s start-up community after the Easter break.
