How can we create a Silicon Valley-type environment here in Norway?

If you look at innovation, innovation happens at multiple levels: at the individual level, the organisational level and the ecosystem level. This is what we call it open innovation, where we all need to connect. One organisation cannot drive innovation alone. One of our key goals in SRII is thus to join forces with others in order to help creating a Silicon Valley Innovation Culture all around the world.

The Silicon Valley Innovation system includes:

  • Building close partnership between Industry, Startups, Academia, VCs and Government organizations to develop and drive key Innovation Initiatives for Norway
  • Attract smart and innovational people

Norway already have a good foundation for a digital economy, but having the tools and the knowledge is one thing, but how to use the tools and the knowledge is another. Thats precisely why we are also joining forces with the newly launched Open Innovation Lab of Norway, so we can help each other to address the economic challenges and the needs of Norway, as well as other countries.
