It all started when Simon Torras, 19, travelled from Spain to China to pitch his idea about a new app that could benefit a great change to young employment.

– As you may know Spain has been one of the most affected countries by the economic crisis. Given this scenario, the fact that we have an unemployment problem, the question was how to come up with a tool which could provide a resolution on how to turn the problem into an opportunity, both for a business start up and for the thousands of young people in need of a job, Torras said.

After two months in Beijing he reached interest. With entrepreneur and investor Chris Rynning (image) in charge, the answer became Mojob, a mobile job market for young people.

Back in Trondheim, the CEO of Mojob Norway, Tobias Nervik undertook the task of devolving Simon´s idea to a definite product, making it accessible for Norwegian users.

– In the app you can find everything from small jobs, permanent part-time positions and holidays jobs. The aim of Mojob is to simplify the hiring process for both parties by giving the job seekers an opportunity to apply for work with their iPhone, Nervik said.

This month Mojob held the charity event “Give a Job” with over 300 participants. The event aimed to show the world how resourceful refugees can be.

– By showing their expertise, this event will open the job marked and make the contrast much smaller and integrate them faster into our society.

The project started locally in Trondheim, but the company’s plan is to expand it through all of Norway, before taking on the rest of Europe.

To date, Mojob has been downloaded 55,000 times and topped the leaderboard on the App Store in both Norway and Denmark.
